The Great Escape

JP LeBreton does a weekly stream, called “WAD Wednesday”, where he plays random files from the idgames archive on Doomworld, one of the largest and oldest archives of custom Doom maps. The one year anniversary of the stream happened in May of 2018, and I along with several other regular stream viewers created this map collection to celebrate.

I created the first map, titled “The Great Escape”. This is a recreation of the house I lived in from 1993 to 2007, with some important changes to properly adapt my feelings and memories of that time and place into the design language of a custom Doom map.

If the itch.io link above doesn’t work, you can download it from Doomworld here. LeBreton’s playthrough of the map ends around 29:27.
